As I'm a mac power pc user I'll initially not have much involvement with TW2.
I suggest we look at this as a good thing.
I've often thought that I'm T4T's worst enemy at times, in that having a strong personality and presence I inhibit others from seizing control of their areas of expertise.
I have always hoped that T4T would have many 'leaders' based on the disciplines needed to create a simulation.
Not every discipline is as glamorous as the 3d or 2d aspects of creating a simulation but without the background work creating a solid foundation the end results although pretty to look at would be far from satisfying.
I hope then that people take the opportunity of TW2's inception to seize control of their area of interest, be it terrain design, plane documentation, animation, damage modelling ,flight modelling, document storage, particle effects, Auto General,.....or any other area unthought of (weather fronts maybe)

Well, I'm out of the frame as far as TW2 is concerned being one of the few with an old Socket A AMD system. (So no SSE2). I've no plans to upgrade my system just yet as I've far more important things to spend my cash on unfortunately.
I'll watch progress and probably drop back in to see if I can be of any use when I decide it's time to upgrade.

Where does someone even begin? I was looking inside the various files and there are terms such as:
name = "Sedan, Chrysler"
type = "external"
state = rigid1
lock = groundlock
There's nothing in the wiki that explains this, or if there are other options ie. state = nonrigid1 or = flexible etc. etc. etc.
Maybe I'm too dense or LUA (or whatever this code is) is too much for my feeble mind to grasp. |

Well, I must say that spending a few nights squinting my eyes into a book on Lua has made some of this clearer as I read it a few weeks or months later than before I started trying to learn Lua.
But, I've never seen anything like a "state" before.
Later, after looking up 'state' in the index of my primer... Hooo boy, is that a can o' worms! Exciting and powerful, but... deeeeeeeep!!!!
And yes, the Wiki needs a LOT more than just parroting Lua syntax. |

I m trying out different settings and try to make out network problems on TW2 and a MBP 13".
I ll be trying to add some moons to the planets in TW2 to see how it works out. Reading LUA reminds me of PASCAL and learning by examples seems rather easy but havent tried much.
Once I understand how to get anything in I ll try to put a complex older object in I figure.
Anything specific you r wanting to try ?
