I try to log into T4T, and I get this: The Game server is using teh Target For Today mod, version 080223. Version 070405 is installed on this computer.
Now I could have sworn I downloaded the one thats linked to on this thread and installed it. |
Have you deleted the old one before installing the new one? |

I think I fixed it, I deleted everything in the T4T folder and redownloaded T4T from the download mod section, and then the patch, I'll try it here ina few after I finish emailing my bff |

I fixed it, it works now, I guess, I'll find out when I fix this stupid time sync error I keep getting.
I swear I hate time things that go wrong. |

these planes had trim for all control surfaces, but only elevator trim could be changed during flight.
the Spitfire had moveable trim tabs, the 109 had a full moveable horizontal tailplane.
trim tabs for ailerons and rudder could only be set preflight, a feature missing in tw. the 109 rudder was formed like a wing, acting as a trim surface. |

It is possible to put the manual trims into the options area of the ACM..
Unfortunately you can't just put the trim, you have to put the Wing section, it's child control surface and it's child trim into the options area...
Now considering that some people don't go to the options area, simply 'just take-off' I thought it'd be a 'bridge to far' for the average pilot and the complaints too vocal.

that sounds interesting.
could it be something like this?
option 3 choice 1: trim for high speed
option 3 choice 2: trim for cruise speed
option 3 choice 3: trim for low speed
if a player doesnt choose anything he has no disadvantage. he just gets the standard trim, the same he gets now. |

No... if a player doesn't chose anything he gets a complete section of wing missing...
How pissed will he be then ?
I'm sure I tried to just place the trim child in the options area... have a go you might get different results from me...

that sounds bad, especially at airstarts...
a solution could be to have different .acm of the same plane with different fixed trim settings available.
this should be low priority. |

T4T server is offline for the short time-being.
I'm trying to get the scenario's to load in sequence and/or some logical order. Not sure how they got thrown out of wack... |

I made a video while flying in formation with Montauffle and Lumino.
That was a nice 3 Manchesters formation even if we were shot just over our target (Bismarck ship)
Here is the summary (H.Q mpeg2 file / 23 mb) :

Jeez, don't you guys weave a little when coming up on target, it's no wonder you got popped.. |

I couldn't play the video but I presume the reason for not weaving when they are on thier bomb run is because its unrealistic for for them to do so. As far as I know Medium and Heavy Bombers didn't tend to weave whilst they where on thier bomb runs as they where more concerned with flying formation and using the bombsight to aim on the target. |

You have to download it by right clicking.
Pretty cool actually. The usernames are HUGE!! oh well... the clouds looked nice... I wish I had enough cpu power to have those clouds...
and how do you get such a smooth video? If I make my frame-rate setting higher, it makes the guncam/video seem like it's in fast-forward... |

Some things I do that help. It's not a perfect solution but the compromise I found works best for my uses.
| Quote: | | trim tabs for ailerons and rudder could only be set preflight |
You can set the incidence of wing sections that includes the aileron to imitate ground set manual trim. Fixed trim would be set and often not needing to altered at all unless some change in airframe occurred. I use this in TR planes generally on all airframes to imitate the fixed trim tabs on most planes.
eg. outer left wing panel +0.2 deg, right outer wing panel -0.2 deg.
Some planes had both fixed and alterable trim tabs, on ailerons for example I trim for cruse with the fixed wing panels changes and also have movable tabs.
| Quote: | | the 109 had a full moveable horizontal tailplane. |
This one is done by making the following entries in the trim surface.
chord = 1
span = 1
You understand probably know all this anyways, so only just in case it helps. |

thanks peril, that looks like a solution for the badly trimmed 109. its tailplane is ok thanks to tt. i used that for the complex Ju 88 trim/flap system with movable tailplane + trim tabs too. |
