I'd like to publicly thank MekGP for all the hard work he's put into making this a fantastically brilliant tool for the dev team...
Over the previous year Kevin and I have debated the use of such a system and the functionality it needs to have.. there's been over the year many variations that we thought would work but left us cold for various reasons.. Kevin has never flinched from the honest criticism that I and he himself has leveled at previous tools nor ceased in his work to improve it... from scratch if needs be.
Lately Doug has come on board and given Kevin some much needed help and advise, and I know from communicating with Kev, just how much he's appreciated and admires the skills that Doug has... And I can see this partnership bringing a lot of new and exciting stuff to TW in the future.
So a big thankyou to Kevin and Doug for making this happen.
So T4T Dev team,,, email me or Mek for a login and get your arses over there if you want to stay in touch !
Regards
Simon |

There's been some honest criticism leveled at me for a lack of communication and dare I say keeping secrets.... it was never intentional just that as things got bigger with more 'balls in the air' it just became harder to have a focused communication... and as a single point of contact I found myself playing a game of 'Chinese whispers' in which I'm not very good at, if you can be any good at that game...
"Send 3 and 4 pence we're going to a dance"
T4T has been moving across many fronts to get to a position where it's less guesswork, where the communication is less of a shotgun approach, with stuff that has no relevance to you being fire at you... where it becomes frustrating because if only you had the data at hand you could get on with the work..
Leaddog has progressed the website
MekGP has progressed the Project Central tool
Individuals are themselves getting a yahoo account and becoming more visible to work in teams, be that just T4T or a more focused 2d, 3d, animation etc team
Becoming the BEST bomber sim is more than just 3d or 2d modeling.. we all have a part to play even if that's just being there and offering support when you feel like throwing the computer out the window !
regards

Thanks fellas. The words are much appreciated.
It seems to be working solidly, Project Central, Bug and Issue Tracking, and the latest addition of the "ticket system" for quickly adding notes and ideas to there relevant areas. I've got a ways to go to finish the system, mainly real-time chat when logged into P:C and links to the other tools.
There will be a tools discussion area started in P:C to get some input for building and maintaining a "Virtual Design Office"!
These tools are available to any mod wanting a central location for dev teams to lay out what needs done, what has been done, and even things needing correction or additions. |

I'm sorry, but I did not do anything around project central.
All credits have to be sent to MekGP for his excellent and hard work.
The way he assembles each brick of this tool is amazing !

Hey Kevin, I found this simple PHP chat :
http://www.graphiks.net/myspeach/
and here is the demo :
http://www.graphiks.net/demo/myspeach.php
I implemented it in a site of mine and it runs very nice.
It's easily configurable and skinnable (I removed many parts of it to suit my needs, the coding style is clear).
Unfortunately, it's in french language (Best for me, worst for you )
As we already discussed, this kind of chat would avoid the "java compatibility problem for 64 bits systems".
I can translate the comments in the code and the documentation for you if needed.
This would may be the way for you to improve your french skills
Look at it, it's the simplest chat I found and it seems efficient and maintained by it's author. |

The Project:Central (P:C) has been moved to better hostings. It is now located at http://target4today.co.uk
All of the info that had been developed is moved to its new home and all of the existing log-in's ~should~ work!
Be sure and check your email once if/when you register for the T4T site to make sure all of the information succeeded.
Also, there is a new forum being worked on for the T4T team at the above site. Its not fully functional yet and/or able to cross-link registrations. The one time log-in seems to be a challenge! |

I just double checked the settings for the website. Yes, it WILL send an email to users at time of registration so that you can finish the registration. Welcome aboard! |

Check out the website! http://target4today.co.uk
Project Central is located completely from that address. Its not "connected" with the main site with registration. Still working on that!
The local general discussion forum works in-sync with the joomla based website. No need for two logins. One registration-One login to the main site AND the forum.
Take a look at our little gallery. If you have T4T specific movies or pics you'd like to add, upload them to the section they pertain to. Your User Menu in the lower right column has tools to do that. The gallery has tools "built in" to upload pics.
The document library can use assets! Anything aircraft/T4T/manuals/etc etc is welcome.
Again...let me know if you need help! I'm on TS channels, IM thru yahoo or google most of the time. |
